It’s winter here in Australia, so while my Northern Hemisphere readers will be reaching for the sunscreen and heading for the beach, I’ll be wearing my fluffy socks, sipping hot beverages and working on my new book! Like always, my trusty feline companions – Valentino, Versace and Gucci - will be sleeping alongside me as I stir up a creative storm.
So whether you are reading this on the sand or snuggled up by the fire, the June newsletter has lots of exciting content. I hope you enjoy it thoroughly!

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A PUBLISHED WRITER?
Having a talent for writing isn’t quite the same thing as the natural aptitude required to be a professional soccer player, opera singer or a prima ballerina.
When it comes to writing, nowhere could the old adage, ‘Desire is more important than talent’ be truer.
NAVIGATING THE COMPLICATED WORLD OF: MOTHER AND DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIPS
Mother’s Day, which is celebrated around the world in May, conjures up images of happy motherhood and femininity – lots of pink; carnations and roses; bathrobes and bath bombs; scented candles and slippers.
It’s a time to remember and honour the woman who brought us into the world. That can be a positive thing if you’ve had a good role model and nurturer. But for many women the festivities around Mother’s Day are painful.
NATASHA LESTER TALKS ABOUT HER UPCOMING BOOK, THE RIVIERA HOUSE
Fellow Australian author, Natasha Lester, has a similar love for Paris as the home of couture fashion. We both share an interest in France during the turbulent period of the Second World War, so I’m always excited when Natasha is bringing a new book out.
I was very excited to touch base with Natasha and ask her about her new book.

Jules dos Santos of Divine Creatures, explains exactly what a cat psychologist does and how they might be able to help cat owners and their feline companions.
