I had a wonderful afternoon tea with Natasha Lester 👇
Happy Holiday Season, wherever you may be!
I have some exciting things to share with you in this newsletter. Firstly, did you know that before my writing career took off, I worked on low-budget horror films in New York and even starred in one? Writer and Blogger, Shelley Gardner, got that bit of history out of me and I share our fun Author Stalker interview in this issue.
My new book, The French Agent, came out in Australia and New Zealand last September. It’s been very well received by readers, with some even saying that it’s my best novel yet! Out and about on the publicity circuit, I had a chance to catch up with fellow historical fiction author, Natasha Lester, for an elegant afternoon tea. We have admired each other’s work for years, and I share with you what we talked about when we finally met in person.
There will be much excitement in 2023 when my new non-fiction book Emboldened: Stories of Resilience and the Fire to Keep Going When All Seems Lost comes out in time for Mother’s Day, along with three of my previous much-loved novels released with stunning new covers – Silver Wattle, Sapphire Skies and Golden Earrings. More on that in the autumn newsletter! I’m currently working on a new novel set in Paris and Nice in 1946, and I’ll be sharing more about that too.
Meanwhile I want to wish you all a beautiful summer (winter if you are in the Northern Hemisphere) and to thank you so much for the support and encouragement you always send me.
Love Belinda XX

AFTERNOON TEA AT THE PALACE TEA ROOMS
- WITH BELINDA ALEXANDRA & NATASHA LESTER
I was thrilled to catch up with fellow historical fiction writer, Natasha Lester, who normally resides in Perth, at the Palace Tea Room in Sydney. We were both in the middle of our publicity tours (Natasha for The Three Lives of Alix St Pierre and me for The French Agent).
When Natasha and I met up, the first thing we said to each other was that we felt like we already knew each other ...
🚨NEW BOOK DISCOVERY WEBSITE - SHEPHERD
If you love discovering new books and receiving recommendations, then be sure to check out the unique website Shepherd where authors share five of their favourite books around a topic, theme, or mood.
I recommended some of my favourite books about women in World War 2. The site has just launched a new World War 2 bookshelf. They also have bookshelves on the aftermath of WW2, The Holocaust, and prisoners of war.
Oh, and I recommended my favourite books on cats as well, of course!
