WELCOME TO SPRING
(and Autumn for my Northern Hemisphere readers!)
I enjoy the variety of all the seasons, but I must confess that spring is my favourite time of year. I love the feeling of coming out of hibernation and into the fresh air again. Plus, the flowers are blooming everywhere! This spring is extra special because it marks 20 years since my first book, White Gardenia, was published.
I am also excited that my new book, The French Agent, is out now* in print, ebook and audio. I believe it embodies everything I have learned over the past two decades about telling a good story! In this month’s blogs, I’ll share with you the inspiration behind the book. I sincerely hope you enjoy it!

THE FRENCH AGENT OUT NOW
FOR HER, THE WAR WAS NOT OVER …
A world in chaos.
Two very different women.
And the mystery of the man who may connect them.
Paris 1946: Sabine Brouillette is a war crimes investigator with the French secret service. She lost her family, including her young son, when her Resistance circuit was betrayed near the end of the war. New evidence comes to light that the traitor was a British double agent who went by the code name 'The Black Fox'. Now her quest for revenge has a single focus: find the Black Fox and kill him.
Sydney 1946: Landscape designer Diana White has been waiting six years for her husband, Casper, to return from the war in Europe. Her son, Freddy, was only a baby when his British-born father joined the RAF. But Casper is a changed man when he returns from the convalescent hospital in England where he has spent the past year under mysterious circumstances. No longer the easygoing personality Diana fell in love with, he is now darker and more secretive.
Soon Sabine and Diana find themselves on a collision course - one seeking vengeance, the other willing to go to any lengths to protect her family.

SPRING READING
AFTER THE WAR IS OVER – THE FRENCH AGENT
My mother’s family – White Russians from China – had their lives turned upside down by wars and revolutions. Post-war migration to Australia completely changed the culture of the country. So, while there are many novels written about the tense days of the Second World War, I am particularly interested in what happened in the aftermath.
THE KOALAS IN THE FRENCH AGENT
The French Agent is set in France and Australia in 1946. The story in France is about a secret service agent on the trail of a war criminal. The story in Australia is about the country coming to grips with the aftermath of the war, including the return of traumatised servicemen and women and the massive migration into the country of displaced people from Europe.
